Art in the Convent in Westbeemster

During the ‘Beemster Open Day’, glass artist Barbara Nanning and ceramicist Wil van Blokland will be exhibiting their recent work on the ground floor of the 110-year-old convent school in Westbeemster.

Barbara is showing work from the series Coloured Shadows:

“To me, life is like an organisation of living cells.
From the large ‘mother cell’, small cells sprout, winding their way through in clusters.
It is from this idea that I create my Coloured Shadows bowls.”

Wil van Blokland is opening her studio with a wide range of abstract 2D and 3D porcelain objects.
