Chimaera

This series has its origins in ideas that emerged during my years at Royal Leerdam Crystal.

From 1995 to 2000, I created unique pieces there in collaboration with master glassblower Henk Verwey and master glass cutter Eddie Bek. Years later, the original idea took on a new form, in collaboration with Czech master glass cutter Aleš Zvěřina.

Forms evolve, change, and return years later in a new guise. The grey vase from my private collection became the starting point for a process of transformation. Almost thirty years later, its form re-emerged in a new incarnation, evolving into the series Chimaera, 1995–2024.
