Reclining Flowers Aalsmeer & Driebergen (NL) 1997-1999
What initially began around 1996 as a few isolated objects inspired by flower buds and seed capsules gradually developed into a separate group.
Buds were also the departure point for several monumental commissions, such as for the Municipality of Aalsmeer, location Legmeerdijk / Hornmeerpark (1997) and for the Nationale Politie, Hoofdstraat 54 in Driebergen (1999). In collaboration with architect Paul van Leeuwen and the Hague-based company Struktuur ’68, man-sized sculptures arose that were assembled from glazed segments.
For these and many other of her monumental commissions, Nanning makes use of advanced computer designs. Moreover, she has developed types of finishes new to the industry that can be applied in large-scale projects.
