was ze een van de eerste kunstenaars die verfpigmenten gebruikte in plaats van glazuur. Voor Nanning is de natuur met haar veelvoudige en wijdverbreide wereld van vormen en kleuren een bijna onuitputtelijke bron van inspiratie. Haar werken zijn gevuld met tegenstellingen die amorfe en rigide structuren, vrijheid en dwang, handmatige perfectie en het gebruik van onverwachte materialen verenigen.<\/p>\n<p>Ze bestudeert kristallen, kwallen, bloemen en micro-organismen met een bijzondere fascinatie voor vorm, structuur en geometrie. Haar werk ontstaat in soorten en families, zoals past bij de natuurlijke wereld die hen inspireert. In 2009 begon ze te werken aan de collectie Eternal Spring, een installatie met objecten van melkwit opaalglas die de ontwakende natuur in de lente uitbeelden. De installatie omvat sneeuwwitte takken die uitsteken van muren, tafels en vloerobjecten, van knotsen van wilgen of van koralen.
